The Culture Barometer provides clarity of what is happening across your organisation and what may need to be made a priority to better navigate through the blue zone that exists between your stated Strategic Intent and the Realised Intent.
It is a digital cultural diagnostic tool based on our Results Through Culture Framework, and is able to provide various levels of insight about your organisation's cultural maturity.
It does not focus on employee satisfaction and engagement but instead on the Conditions and Capabilities your organisation can put in place and the Leadership Competencies that enable these Conditions and Capabilities for achieving Results Through Culture.
Better understanding your culture; the strengths, tensions, detractors and pressures means you can better respond and be sure to harness the power of your organisations brilliance when achieving results. You will be better able to arrive at your desired future state strong, safe, engaged and commited.
We partner with you to:
1. Understand your current cultural maturity and partner with your leaders to prepare for the role they play in shaping culture and achieving Results Through Culture.
2. Unlock the people risks or tensions that might be getting in the way of results and preparing leaders and teams for new ways of working or a necessary cultural transformation.
3. Unleash the potential that exists in your organisation and facilitate a cultural shift with and through your people.
The Results Through Culture framework provides your leaders with greater clarity of the Leadership Competencies they can and must demonstrate to create the Cultural Conditions required to achieve results. They are provided with insight into what Organisational Capabilities are or need to be in place to support your organisation in realising its intent effectively and with strong partnership and collaboration.
The Culture Barometer assesses your organisation's cultural maturity against this framework. It provides you with an understanding of the degree to which you have effectively created an environment that supports the achievement of results through your culture rather than in spite of it.
Culture and employee engagement are not the same thing.
In our experience, employee engagement and retention rates have been two of the primary ways organisations measure culture and Values have been the primary guardrails for culture. It’s true, these are all relevant but they fall short of understanding the full picture. In addition, in many cases engagement, retention and values initiatives have tended to be disingenuous and not leader led. In other cases they have been tick and flick activities instead of genuine indicators of organisational and individual performance.
Many efforts have excused leaders from the responsibility of shaping, leading and creating the conditions required the achievement of results and cultural strength.
The Culture Barometer aims to provide leaders with this more holistic insight and it can work alongside the evidence you are obtaining from your engagement surveys and workforce analytics. It is a cultural maturity diagnostic focussed on the leadership and organisational responsibilities for in shaping, shifting and leading culture.
The Culture Barometer provides an understanding of the organisation’s cultural maturity and the extent to which the organisation’s norms support the achievement of ‘Results Through Culture’. It outlines the leader competencies, cultural conditions and organisational capabilities that need to be made a priority to unleash the potential culture of the organisation.
We believe the direct benefits of putting the five conditions and 20 organisational capabilities in place are:
Cultural tensions or people risks, left unaddressed, can hinder, slow down or even block the achievement of your Strategic Intent.
Our aim is to provide you with an understanding of culture so these cultural tensions can be unlocked and leaders are better positioned to unleash the potential that exists on their teams.
We offer a few different options of how you can engage us to support you on your Culture journey:
1. Provoke and Provoke + - leader awareness building workshop (done virtually or in person) with a dialogue workshop and assessment done during the workshop with your leaders and culture champions. This option is great for leadership retreats or conferences and if you want to get a sense of your organisations readiness to take a serious look at the cultural realities that are impacting your Results Through Culture.
2. Ignite - An individualised organisational wide online assessment, done virtually. Provides an overarching cultural maturity assessment as well as a comparitive analysis of various stakeholder groups, leader levels and business areas as defined by you.
3. Unleash - This is our fully customised, advisory option. It is an in-depth cultural re-set program which is a customised approach designed specifically based on the needs of you organisation. It includes a detailed report of qualitative and quantitative analysis and a roadmap for cultural shift based on the diagnostics, a desktop review, one on one interviews; focus groups and response planning workshops. This customised program can also include ongoing support in the form of leadership coaching & cultural learning programs and the facilitation of unlocking sessions and unleashing brilliance co-labs.
